THE APOCALYPSE"
The normally crowded upper terrace of Mammoth Hot Springs was empty except for our group trying to capture lightning strikes from a fast moving weather system. We all felt relatively safe judging from the distance of the thunderstorm. But in an instant, the storm changed direction and headed toward us bringing with it wind, hail, and rain. We debated if it was time to run to our SUV parked 7 to 10 minutes away. Well, I didn't need any convincing as soon as I saw a huge lightning bolt strike the hill directly in front of us. I made a mad dash out of there, but not before capturing this scene. One of the scariest cloud formations that I have ever witnessed.
