Happy new year and 2016 to come!!!
It has been three years now since I quit my 17 year career in the IT industry, and it was the best career move that I have ever made. Going from a very secure well paying career path to photography full time of course has had its bumps as well of course, but in general, it has been a great journey. Of course, I did not just take a leap into photography and "hope for the best" as you see sometimes with people who just quit their jobs and go on a world travel adventure only to go broke, lol, sorry but that is just dumb. For me, it required that my photography business was already up and running with sufficient income to support me and my family prior to quitting the full time job. In fact, when the time came to quit my full time job, I had no idea I was going to do it until only a few months before that happend. At the time, I never actually thought it was possible. So for those who want to take that leap - it can be done, it just requires a lot more than passion, desire and want - it takes a lot of hard work and realistic expectations of being able to support yourself. So to kuddos to all those who are able accomplish this and patience to all those who do want to take that leap. It can be done!
