Wow! It is Dec 31st - this year flew by!!
#1. Sometimes when you think that what you are seeking will never come, it can come back and surprise you. So don't pack up your bags before it is completely done - you never know smile emoticon.
I was co-leading a Canadian Rockies tour with OOAK, Tim and Sarah, and a great group on this fine morning. We headed out before sunrise to our pre-selected locations, and waited for the sun to come up. Honestly, it did not look to good... lots of dark clouds over the mountain tops... and the sun came up... and... nothing happend.
A few of us started to pack up thinking that it was all done.. but I just felt that I had to wait and see. Waited, and nothing. Just as I was about to toss in the hat... the sun found a hole in the clouds somewhere along the horizon, and lit up the under side of all the clouds - a deep crimson red. It was only like this for about 60 seconds before it was gone.. but plenty of time to snap off a few shots and capture the wonderful moment!! I could hear cheers and yells from other photographers in the area in other locations.
Sometimes, it is just worth waiting... because you never know, and thus, this is one of my favorite image of the year.
I hope everyone had a fantastic 2015... I know I did, and lots of things to come for 2016!! For those of you who would love to come to the Canadian Rockies and shoot, check out my website for the tour, we would love to show you!
Happy new years everyone!!!
