PICTURE OF THE WEEK - OUT OF THIS WORLD
Well, here it is … probably one of my best pictures from our tour to Senja last week:
As I told told you yesterday we had some more luck on that spot 2 days later in the night. Due to the avalanche level of 3+ we could not realize the summits I had planned in the first place, but I think this viewpoint was totally worth the effort of a bivouac and the freezing cold in the night at -15°C. Weather had come quite different than forecasted once more (who is surprised about that? Hahaha) A blizzard was raging during the ascent and setting up of the tent … oh yes, I love all the flapping around of the tent in the storm like a flag gone crazy and if you don´t take care of fixing the loose tent properly as soon as you pull it out of your stuff sack it might be gone forever … as soon as the tent was set up the storm has settled, the sky cleared up and you could literally feel the arctic cold that was creeping in from the north. The KP-level was rising and suddenly the sky was burning with the green flames of the northern light.
